Job Description
Due to continued growth across Australia and internationally, Flexicon is seeking a technically-minded Regional Applications Engineer to join our Brisbane-based team. This role offers a unique combination of engineering, customer engagement, technical sales and project involvement, allowing you to work on material handling solutions supplied to some of Australia's leading food, chemical, plastics, mining and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

The desired candidate is a driven, energetic, detail-oriented individual with strong technical aptitude. The successful candidate will respond positively within a team setting but must also demonstrate the ability to work effectively in an autonomous role. A positive attitude, strong organisational skills including time management, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
n
In partnership with the Regional Sales Managers:
n
Support Regional Sales Managers in achieving sales targets, developing opportunities and maintaining customer relationships
n
Lead management, follow-up and tracking for assigned sales territory
n
Direct response to customer inquiries, including:
n
Evaluation of customer's material handling project
n
Assess customer bulk material samples and application requirements to determine suitable handling solutions.
n
Review of technical / engineering specifications and coordination of response to customers
n
Design material handling system to meet customer needs
n
Determine appropriate pricing and write quotation for the system
n
Creation of supplementary documentation to accompany quotation submission (process flow drawings, project schedules, etc.)
n
Keep quotation updated as the scope of supply changes
n
Follow-up and negotiate with customer to secure order
n
Support of Regional Sales Managers,



including:
n
Review and correction of quotations generated by Regional Sales Managers
n
Providing pricing on custom components of material handling systems
n
Provide technical guidance relative to the application of Flexicon equipment
n
Elements of overall project management, including:
n
Obtaining pricing on equipment not manufactured by Flexicon, for incorporation into material handling systems supplied by Flexicon
n
Obtaining all relevant information to allow Flexicon engineering, production, and purchasing departments to design and fabricate Flexicon systems
n
Acting as liaison between customers and Flexicon when questions arise during the production or design of Flexicon material handling systems
n
Interface with internal engineering, production, and purchasing departments by participating in various after-sale support functions and meetings
n
Regular interstate travel within Australia and occasional international travel may be required to:
n
Accompany Regional Sales Managers within assigned sales territory to meet with customers and inspect their facility
n
Travel to Flexicon offices and manufacturing facilities for training, collaboration and business activities as required.

About You
n
Ideal candidates will be outstanding communicators, fluent communication in English is a must (multi-lingual is a plus)
n
Degree or diploma qualification in engineering, process engineering, industrial technology or a related technical discipline. A minimum of three years' experience in field sales of technical equipment (bulk processing equipment a plus).
n
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, CRM software and AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
n
Outstanding organisation and time management skills, with the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously at a fast pace to a high level of accuracy.
