Australian citizenship and a current Positive Vetting (PV) or Top Secret Privileged Access (TS-PA) security clearance are mandatory.

Pinaka Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Geospatial Systems & Software Specialist Engineer for a long-term Defence Intelligence engagement in Canberra.
n
The opportunity is being delivered via a Defence Prime and will support the Geospatial Collection Systems function within Defence Intelligence Group.
n
This role will work across systems engineering, software engineering, geospatial capability development, integration and future technology assessment in support of Defence, the Australian Defence Force and National Intelligence Community.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop, review and assess geospatial system architectures, software concepts and technical roadmaps
n
Develop and assess capability integration approaches
n
Evaluate technical feasibility, architectural options and implementation approaches
n
Identify technical and operational risks associated with new capabilities and system enhancements
n
Define interoperability requirements across Defence, intelligence and Whole-of-Government environments
n
Assess opportunities and implementation considerations associated with emerging technologies
n
Contribute to activities involving space capabilities, artificial intelligence, automation and advanced data exploitation
n
Provide systems engineering and software engineering advice
n
Prepare technical assessments, reports, briefs and discussion papers
n
Engage with technical specialists, operational stakeholders and senior Defence representatives
n
n
About You
n
We are looking for an engineer with solid systems,
software and geospatial capability experience who can demonstrate:
n
n
Relevant engineering qualifications and/or professional membership
n
Experience delivering projects within Defence
n
Experience in systems engineering, software engineering or complex technology integration
n
Experience with geospatial systems or related intelligence capabilities
n
Knowledge of Defence Capability System processes
n
Understanding of the Australian National Intelligence Community
n
Awareness of the domestic and international geospatial and intelligence landscape
n
Familiarity with emerging technologies including space systems, artificial intelligence, automation and advanced data capabilities
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
n

Mandatory Requirements
n
Applicants must:
n
n
Be an Australian Citizen
n
Currently hold a PV or TS-PA security clearance
n
Be based in the ACT region
n
Be available to work onsite at Brindabella Business Park, Majura, five days per week, unless otherwise approved by Defence
n
Successfully undertake a Defence Intelligence Suitability Assessment (DISA)
n
Complete required confidentiality and Defence Intelligence Group training requirements
n
n
Limited work-from-home arrangements may be considered by Defence, however fully remote work outside the ACT region is not available.
