Machinistscan expect to work with both software and hardware, conduct tests and inspections of products, services and software systems, and repair faulty programs and machinery. You should have an above-average aptitude for trigonometry, geometry, statistics and algebra, excellent computer and interpersonal communication skills, physical stamina and a keen interest in production and processing.
n To be successful as a Metal Machinist you should be creative, perceptive, detail-oriented and an active learner. Top candidates will have exceptional critical thinking, time management and communication skills, an ability to handle complex machines and tools, and a willingness to lead by example in the workplace.

The Person
n
n
Certificate in machine shop technology or machine tool
technology/machinist.
n
1-2 years experience in mechanical assembly is preferred.
n




Recognised apprenticeship may be required.
n
Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
n
Understanding of mathematics.
n
Ethical behaviour.
n
Attention to detail and self-motivation.
n
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Writing and interpreting instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.
n
Getting information from all relevant sources.
n
Experience programming, setting and operating CNC router
n
Controlling machines and processes.
n
Performing inspections of equipment, structures, materials and products.
n
Ability to read and understand production/CAD drawings
n
Maintaining clear and honest communication at all times.
n
Keeping the work workplace safe.
n
Learning and applying the latest relevant knowledge to the work.
n
n
Overview of the position
n
n
Tolerance within .04 thousandth of an inch
n
Lathe/milling machine experience
n
Thread making experience Line boring experience is a bonus
n
CNC Programming experience is a bonus
n
