Join Orica at Olympic Dam and kick-start your mining career with a global leader in mining and blasting services. This role operates on an 8/6 roster, with FIFO from Adelaide or DIDO within South Australia.
n
As MCU Operator (Underground Charge-up), you'll receive full training to safely operate Mobile Charging Units (MCUs) and support underground blasting operations. Working in a hands-on setting, you'll play a key role in delivering and loading bulk explosives to production areas while maintaining the highest standards of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
n

What you will be doing
n
n
First and foremost, demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';
n
Duties including Magazine Management;
n
Conducting routine inspections and performing minor maintenance of fixed and mobile plants.
n
Assisting with the training and mentoring of new team members;
n
Working in tight unison with the Drill and Blast Team.
n
At all times acting with integrity and respect.

What you will bring
n
n




Heavy rigid (HR) vehicle license;
n
Ability to obtain a national police clearance check;
n
A commitment and attitude toward Safety, Health and Environment;
n
Basic mechanical comprehension is highly advantageous;
n
Exposure to operating heavy plant, equipment and machinery is advantageous but not essential.
