About the roles
Provide active support to people with disability in Mackay across Lifestyle and Supported Independent Living (SIL) settings. Most shifts will involve supporting clients one-on-one out in the community, with occasional SIL shifts available. The people we support are unique, with individual needs, preferences, and goals, and we are looking for passionate support workers who are proactive in supporting them in their day-to-day lives, helping create meaningful moments.
This position is for someone who is patient, compassionate, and committed to providing person-centred support. You will support people with disability to develop and maintain their independence,
participate in their communities and achieve their individual goals. Safety is a key priority, and applicants must be able to follow procedures and support plans.
Casual opportunities are available, and hours will generally range from approximately 10 to 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
Maintain thorough record-keeping
Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
Advocate for client choice and control
Skills & Experience
A passion for working with people with disability
Ability to work with challenging behaviours
An unrestricted Australian driver's licence
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates will be required to explicit probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check, QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and obtain a NDIS Clearance.
