Job Description
Southern Highlands Private Hospital – Bowral NSW

The Building Services Technician is responsible for undertaking and overseeing all assigned maintenance tasks within the hospital. This role ensures the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service that complies with legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines, and approved hospital budgets. You will play a key part in maintaining our facilities, ensuring they meet the relevant Australian Standards associated with private hospital operations.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Undertake assigned maintenance tasks as required, includingpainting, wall patching, flooring, doors and locks and gardening.
n
Operatemachinery and power/hand tools.
n
Ensure the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service, adhering to legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines, and approved hospital budgets.
n
Direct and manage the work of maintenance contractors and employees, ensuring their competency and technical knowledge align with required tasks.
n
Ensure all assigned tasks are completed and meet defined service levels.
n
Maintain all forms of maintenance records for the Hospital, keeping them fully up to date.
n
Achieve Key Performance Indicators within the functions of the department.
n
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the relevant Australian Standards associated with the maintenance of a private hospital facility.
n
Participate in an after-hours on-call service rotation.
n

About You
n
We are seeking a proactive and skilled professional who is passionate about maintaining high-quality facilities, with the following essential experience and attributes:

Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, ideally within a hospital environment.
n
A willingness to work across various trades areas within your skill levels.
n
An interest in assisting people and the ability to work co-operatively with others.
n
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
n
Sound verbaland written communication, and strong computer literacy skills.
n
Demonstrated excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
n
Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks effectively.
n
Experience in, and ongoing commitment to, Quality Improvement principles.
n
Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety (WH&S;) requirements.
