We're looking for an experienced and strategic governance professional to join our team as Senior Manager, Governance & Risk.
n
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our governance frameworks are contemporary, practical and fit for purpose, while supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.

About the role
n
As Senior Manager, Governance & Risk, you will lead the ongoing development and implementation of AgriFutures Australia's governance and risk frameworks, ensuring they support transparency, accountability and organisational performance.
n
Working closely with executives, senior leaders and key stakeholders, you will:
n
Lead and continuously improve governance, compliance and risk management frameworks.
n
Provide strategic governance and risk advice to executives and senior leaders.
n
Drive compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations.
n
Oversee governance instruments, policies, delegations and key organisational registers.
n
Lead enterprise risk management reporting, controls and improvement initiatives.
n
Support governance reporting to the Executive, Audit Committee and Board.
n
Monitor changes in legislation and emerging governance requirements.
n




Build governance capability across the organisation through coaching, training and practical support.
n
Lead and support one direct report while fostering a positive, collaborative and high-performing culture.
n
About you
n
You are a trusted adviser who combines robust technical expertise with sound judgement, a collaborative approach and the ability to influence positive outcomes across complex stakeholder environments.
n
You will bring:
n
Significant experience in governance, risk, compliance or accountability roles.
n
Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders and executives on governance and risk matters.
n
Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks, policies, controls and reporting arrangements.
n
Strong understanding of governance in highly regulated or accountable environments.
n
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality executive, Board and Audit Committee papers.
n
Strong project and change leadership capability.
n
High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
n
Highly regarded
n
Qualifications in law, governance, public policy, business, risk,



commerce or a related discipline.
n
Experience working within a Commonwealth entity, government agency, statutory authority or similar organisation.
n
Knowledge of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act **** (PGPA Act).
n
Experience supporting Boards, Audit Committees or Executive leadership teams.
