An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Open Pit Mine Surveyor to join a growing gold mining operation in Western Australia.
n
Reporting to the Mining Manager, this position will lead a team of Surveyors and Survey Assistants across multiple operational areas while providing technical expertise and survey governance to support safe and efficient mining activities.
n
This role offers an excellent balance of field and office-based responsibilities, including leadership, UAV operations, end-of-month reporting, production support, geotechnical monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role As the Senior Open Pit Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of surveying activities across the operation while ensuring high standards of accuracy, safety and compliance are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead and mentor a team of Surveyors and Survey Assistants.
n
Coordinate and review production survey activities across site.
n
Completion of end-of-week and end-of-month reporting.
n
Volume calculations, pit surveys and stockpile reporting.
n
Ore markups and delineation activities.
n
Grade control and resource drilling set-out and pickups.
n
Blast hole surveys and volume reporting.
n
Conduct UAV operations and photogrammetry processing.
n
Slope stability monitoring and reporting of pit wall movements.
n
Installation and monitoring of prisms and geotechnical monitoring equipment.
n
Maintain accurate site plans, lease boundaries and survey records.
n
Ensure mining activities are completed in accordance with approved designs.
n
Liaise closely with mining, geology and technical services teams.
n

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical capability combined with proven leadership experience within open pit mining environments.

Essential Requirements
n
n
Degree or Diploma in Surveying.
n
WA Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 1 or Grade 2).
n
Minimum 5 years' mine surveying experience within open pit operations.
n
Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
n
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
Experience using:n

Trimble RTK GPS
n
Trimble Total Stations
n
DJI UAV platforms
n
Surpac
n
Trimble Business Centre
n
n
Current Manual C Class Driver's Licence.
n
National Police Clearance or ability to obtain.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
Agisoft Metashape experience.
n
PPK processing software experience.
n
Remote Pilot Licence (RePL).
n
Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC).
n
Experience with UAV data processing workflows.
n
