Can Speak Allied Health is looking for an experienced and passionate Speech Pathologist to join our team as a Speech Pathology Team Leader.
n
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who enjoys working clinically while also supporting other Speech Pathologists to grow, develop their skills and deliver high-quality, family-centered care.
n

You will work closely with our Head of Speech Pathology, providing clinical leadership and support to your own team of Speech Pathologists while continuing to maintain a reduced clinical caseload.
n
About the role
n
As Speech Pathology Team Leader, you will:
n
n
Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and support to a team of Speech Pathologists.
n
Report directly to the Head of Speech Pathology.
n
Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and support to clinicians within your team.
n
Work towards agreed clinical and team targets, with regular support from the Head of Speech Pathology.
n
Support clinicians with clinical reasoning, complex cases, goal setting and intervention planning.
n
Encourage reflective practice, evidence-based practice and neuroaffirming approaches.
n
Contribute to the development of clinical resources, systems and team processes.
n
Support the professional development and growth of Speech Pathologists across the team.
n
Maintain your own paediatric clinical caseload across clinic and community settings.
n
Collaborate closely with our Occupational Therapy and administration teams.
n
Participate in case discussions, team meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration.
n

As a Team Leader, you will have access to:

n You will work closely with our Head of Speech Pathology, with fortnightly one-to-one supervision focused on your leadership, clinical work and professional development.

n Our Speech Pathologists have 2 hours of peer supervision each week, creating regular opportunities to discuss cases, share ideas and learn from one another.
n
A collaborative multidisciplinary environment
n Work alongside our Occupational Therapy team and dedicated administration staff. You won't be expected to do everything yourself.
n
A outstanding clinical setting
n Our clinic provides dedicated office and therapy spaces, including sensory gym facilities, supporting a wide range of paediatric therapy needs.
n
Varied clinical work
n Work across clinic and community settings and support children and young people across the full scope of paediatric Speech Pathology, including communication, speech, language, literacy, fluency, AAC and feeding.
n
Professional development and connection

Our team enjoys an annual retreat and quarterly team-building days, alongside regular professional development opportunities. You will have access to an PD budget and additional PD leave as well as weekly team meetings for internal PD.

About you
n
We are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist who:
n
n
Holds a recognised Speech Pathology qualification and is eligible for practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
n
Has experience working in paediatric Speech Pathology. Minimum 5 + years experience.
n
Is confident across a broad range of paediatric presentations.
n
Has a genuine interest in supporting and developing other clinicians.
n
Demonstrates strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.
n
Enjoys collaboration and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
n
Is organised, approachable and able to provide constructive clinical support.
n
Is comfortable working towards clinical and professional targets.
n
Values neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, family-centred and evidence-based practice.
n
Is ready to take the next step into clinical leadership, or is an experienced Team Leader looking for a supportive and collaborative practice.
