An opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Reporting Specialist to join a large, complex mining organisation on a contract through to March ****.

Sitting within a well-established finance team, this role will take responsibility for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across a number of operational entities. You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders and operational teams, while also providing guidance and support to a small team.
n
This would suit someone with strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability who is comfortable reviewing work, challenging where required and communicating effectively with stakeholders across the business.

The Role
n
Reporting to the Financial Reporting Superintendent, your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Leading and mentoring a small team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting;
n
Reviewing financial results, general ledger reconciliations and month-end reporting;
n
Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements and solvency statements;
n
Providing technical accounting support across rehabilitation provisions, leave provisions, port and rail accruals and leases;
n
Supporting consolidated and statutory reporting requirements;
n
Reviewing financial information and challenging outcomes where required;
n
Driving improvements across reporting processes, controls and overall reporting quality;
n
Building strong relationships with finance and operational stakeholders across the business; and
n
Supporting the team through key reporting periods and broader finance requirements.

About You
n
You will be an experienced financial reporting professional with a strong technical accounting background and the confidence to operate within a large and complex organisation.
n
Ideally, You will have:
n
n
A degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline;
n
CA or CPA qualification;
n
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory reporting and financial controls;
n
Previous experience reviewing financial statements and complex reconciliations;
n
Leadership capability with experience coaching or developing team members;
n
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills;
n
The ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders at different levels of an organisation;
n
SAP experience will be highly regarded; and
n
Previous mining, resources or another large operational environment would be advantageous.

The role is based in Brisbane CBD and offers versatile working arrangements, including WFH and a nine-day fortnight.
