Role Description
n
The VCE Maths Tutor will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned tutoring sessions for VCE Mathematical Methods students in both one-on-one and small-group formats.
n
Day-to-day responsibilities include planning lessons, explaining complex mathematical concepts clearly, guiding learners through practice problems, and monitoring progress against VCE requirements.
n
The tutor will provide feedback to learners (and where appropriate, families), maintain accurate records of attendance and performance, and adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles.



This is a casual or part-time, hybrid role based in Melbourne, VIC, with a mix of in-person sessions and work-from-home online tutoring.

Qualifications
n
Strong proficiency in Mathematics, with solid knowledge of VCE Mathematical Methods and related Algebra concepts.
n
Experience in Tutoring and Online Tutoring, including the ability to use online platforms and digital tools effectively.
n
Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear, patient, and supportive manner.
n
Previous experience working with secondary school learners, ideally in VCE or exam preparation settings.
n
Relevant tertiary study in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline is beneficial (completed or in progress).
n
Strong organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple learners and sessions each week.
n
Commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory teaching practices.
n
Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain) and adherence to local child safety and privacy standards.
