About the role
Fostering Independence Pty Ltd is expanding into Adelaide, and we're looking for compassionate, reliable Community Support Workers to join our growing team. This is a casual position offering flexible hours and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives.
Key responsibilities
Provide direct personal care and support to clients, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and meal preparation
Accompany clients on community outings, appointments and social activities to promote social inclusion and independence
Support clients in developing life skills and building confidence in their abilities
Maintain detailed and accurate client records and documentation in accordance with organisational policies
Communicate regularly with clients, families and the support coordination team to ensure continuity of care
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve client goals and outcomes
Respond sensitively and professionally to clients' needs and concerns
Maintain a safe and respectful environment that supports client dignity and choice
Adhere to all health, safety and compliance requirements relevant to aged and disability support
What we're looking for
Experience working in community services, aged care, disability support or a related field is highly desirable
Current or willingness to obtain a relevant First Aid qualification
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse client groups
Demonstrated commitment to person-centred, respectful and dignified support practices
Reliability, punctuality and the ability to manage time effectively across a flexible casual schedule
Physical capacity to assist clients with mobility and personal care tasks
A valid Australian driving licence and access to reliable transport
Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals and commitment to fostering independence
