About the Role
n
St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Head of Junior High to join our Junior High team in January ****. Reporting to the Head of Junior High, this key leadership role partners strategically and operationally to foster a high-performing, student-centred sub-school where students flourish, staff are supported, and a culture of wellbeing, engagement and academic success thrives.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead and support Year Level Coordinators to build a cooperative, high-performing leadership team.
n
Oversee student wellbeing, pastoral care and behaviour management frameworks across Years 7–9.
n
Manage complex student matters and coordinate interventions to support student engagement and success.
n
Partner with families, staff and specialist support teams to deliver positive outcomes for students.
n
Drive Junior High improvement initiatives, using data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
n
Deputise for the Head of Junior High and contribute to strategic and operational leadership across the sub-school.
n

What You Bring
n
n




A relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Leadership, Pastoral Care and/or Curriculum, together with Queensland College of Teachers registration (or eligibility for registration).
n
Comprehensive knowledge of middle years education, student wellbeing, pastoral care and behaviour management practices.
n
Experience in a similar educational leadership role, with demonstrated success leading staff, supporting student outcomes and driving improvement initiatives.
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
n
Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
n
Commitment to the College's Christian ethos and values.

Eligibility requirements to work within a Queensland School
n
