BioGenesis is developing and operating an advanced algae production facility in Bowen, Queensland, with a focus on the commercial-scale cultivation and processing of Chlorella.

We are looking for a hands-on Process Engineer - Algae Production & Farm Systems to join the farm team and take ownership of the engineering, optimisation and continuous improvement of our end-to-end production process.
n
This is an opportunity for an engineer who wants to move beyond traditional consulting or equipment design and own a live industrial production process, working directly with operations, suppliers and technical specialists to improve production, yield, quality and cost.

About the Role
n
You will work closely with the Farm Manager and technical team to improve the end-to-end production process, from water treatment and algae cultivation through to harvesting and drying.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Commission and optimise RO, ozone and CO2 systems
n
Improve pond hydraulics, pumping, mixing and CO2 transfer




n
Develop process instrumentation, monitoring and automation
n
Troubleshoot water quality and production-process issues
n
Optimise centrifugation, harvesting and drying
n
Develop SOPs, preventive maintenance and continuous improvement processes
n
Identify opportunities to improve yield, quality, efficiency and production costs
n

About You
n
n
Degree in Chemical, Process or Bioprocess Engineering
n
Hands-on experience with industrial process systems
n
Experience with several of: RO/membranes, water treatment, pumps & hydraulics, CO2 dosing, instrumentation, centrifugation, drying or commissioning
n
Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
n
Comfortable working directly with equipment, suppliers and farm operations
n
Algae experience is desirable but not essential
n
