Job Description
Introduction
n
Powertech is an Electrical Engineering Services Provider delivering HV/LV & E&I; engineering, installation, commissioning, testing and operations and maintenance services to our clients in the Mining & Minerals, Oil & Gas, Energy & Utilities, Refineries & Infrastructure, Defence, Renewable Energy, Ports & Rail Sectors across Australia, and SE Asia.
n
Due to a consistent rate of company growth, which is paving the way for further expansion into local markets, we currently have a requirement for an Electrical Construction Lead to join us on a full-time basis in our Perth, Malaga based office.
n
Reporting to the EPC General Manager, Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
n
n
Deliver assigned projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard
n
Lead construction projects to meet safety, environmental, quality, schedule, and cost targets
n
Mentor and support the development of team members, including apprentices
n
Leading construction activities from planning through to completion, including conducting site audits and resolving issues early
n
Liaise with stakeholders and clients to align outcomes with business and project objectives
n
Assist with project financial tracking, procurement decisions, tendering, and CAPEX planning
n
Support monthly reporting, risk assessments, and audit activities in line with enterprise frameworks
n
Manage inventory, tools, equipment,
and logistics in collaboration with procurement and suppliers
n
Promote continuous improvement, drive innovation, support staff performance, and contribute to broader strategic decisions
n
Issue electrical preliminary notices and notices of completion for projects when required
n
Be willing to travel locally and to remote locations depending on project requirements
n
n
What you'll bring to the team:
n
n
Minimum 2 years' experience leading projects in heavy industrial and utility electrical projects
n
WA Electrical Licence with advanced knowledge of electrical products and standards
n
Experience as an Electrical Nominee
n
Solid understanding of construction processes (including issuing NOC and ESC), procurement, and material take-offs
n
Effective leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, MS 365) and project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6)
n
Skilled in estimating, planning, and scheduling construction works
n
Knowledge of contract conditions, including defects, EOTs, LDs, and notice requirements
n
Experienced in reviewing and marking up electrical/civil drawings and liaising with engineering teams on buildability
n
Strong time management, project coordination, and risk management capabilities
n
