Swan Hill Rural City Council is looking for amotivated and community-minded Business Development & Tourism Officer tojoin our Economic and Community Development team. About the Role
n
In this role, you will deliver Council'seconomic development and tourism initiatives that encourage business growth,attract investment, increase visitation, and strengthen our local economy.
n
You will:
n
n
Support localbusinesses and tourism operators by providing information, advice andreferrals.
n
Build
strongrelationships
with businesses, industry groups, investors, government agenciesand community organisations.
n
Assist witheconomic development and tourism projects that create opportunities for theregion.
n
Help identifyand secure grants, funding opportunities, and partnerships.
n
Contribute totourism, business, investment attraction, and destination marketing activities.
n
Research andprepare business, industry, economic, and investment information.
n
Assist withthe implementation of Council's Economic Development Strategy and relatedaction plans.




n
Maintainbusiness and economic development information on Council's website.
n
RepresentCouncil at industry meetings, networking events, and community forums.
n
Use economicand demographic data to support business and investment opportunities.
n
Some afterhours and weekend work may be required by mutual agreement
n

What we are looking for

Qualificationsin Economics, Business, Marketing, PR or similar (or relevant experience)
n
Experiencesupporting
business development programs or projects
n
Excellentcommunication
and relationship-building skills.
n
Enjoysworking with a wide range of people and organisations.
n
Has strongresearch, administration, and problem-solving skills.
n
Is passionateabout helping communities and businesses thrive.
n

Approximately$93,830
per annum + 15% superannuation
