Our client, Sky Fuels Pty Ltd, operates Bordertown Café & Restaurant in Bordertown, South Australia. The café serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering dine-in services with seating for customers.

Position Overview:
n
The employer is looking for an experienced and motivated individual qualified as a Cook, capable of managing a high volume of customers. This hands-on role requires attention to detail and a positive work attitude.
n
To be successful, candidates must have relevant work experience and trade qualifications, along with a genuine interest in the hospitality industry. The successful applicant must also comply with all WHS, Food Safety, and HACCP requirements.

Minimum Requirements:
n
n
Certificate II or III in commercial Cookery with at least 1 year of experience
n
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Prepare a wide range of meals from the menu
n
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use
n




Contribute to improving the menu list, kitchen facility, and business of the restaurant
n
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation
n
Standards and food preparation checklist
n
Prepare meat and non-vegetarian dishes and salads
n
Undertake portion control practices, arrange, and garnish food according to the
n
Creative ethos of the kitchen Store food in temperature-controlled facilities
n
Provide input in the creation of seasonal menus and new recipes
n
Season and cook food according to recipes or your own experience and knowledge
n
Help with stock management including, ordering, rotation, and wastage control
n
Ensure wastage is kept to a minimum
n
Keep a sanitized and orderly setting in the kitchen
n
n
Other Key Skills and Experience:
n
n
Skilled in preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to recipes
n
Understanding of food safety and OHS requirements
n
Strict compliance towards food safety and COVID safety management plans
n
Be able to work under pressure in a busy kitchen
n
Be a motivated individual who has a passion for cooking
