Seeking a Network Administrator with 5-7+ years' experience as a network engineer with exposure to MPLS, IP and Ethernet.

Position Description
n
Responsible for the day-to-day systems and network administration, and provision of cross functional support to other areas within the IT department when required.
n
Key Role and Responsibilities
n
Design and implementation new network solutions and / or improving the efficiency of current networks.
n
Administration of network infrastructure devices including: routers, switches and firewalls.
n
Operational support which includes provisioning, asset management, monitoring, implementation, troubleshooting and support Networking operations and related infrastructure.
n
Implement and maintain network security measures.
n
Monitor network performance.
n
Implement/upgrade systems as required.
n
Ensure documentation is kept updated on a regular basis.
n
Keep abreast of new technologies and advise on potential uses.
n
Hardware acquisitions (testing, selection, ordering, set to work).
n
General support to the IT Division as required.
n
Knowledge/Skills /Abilities
n
5-7+ years' experience as a network engineer with exposure to MPLS, IP and Ethernet.
n
Extensive experience with various network types including LANs. WANs, SANs and VOIP.
n
Extensive experience with switching and routing.
n
Previous experience with Extreme Switching technology (desirable).
n
Previous experience of Fortinet Firewalls.
n
Experience with Linux based systems is highly desirable.
n
Tertiary qualification or Diploma, industry certifications in relevant fields.
n
A high level of analytical and problem solving skills.
n
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to engage with, influence, build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
n
Demonstrated workload prioritisation skills in a high volume setting.
n
Flexibility to attend to urgent issues out of hour's if/when required.
n
Works well independently and in team settings.
n
Effective documentation skills.
n
Perform responsibilities in a proactive manner as directed within determined times frames and a high degree of accuracy.
n
Permanent role - $140K + Super
n
Security Required: NV2 Security Clearance required
n
