The Operations Manager will take ownership of the daily operational performance of Tareve's transport divisions, ensuring people and equipment are safely and efficiently utilised while delivering a high level of service to clients. This is a hands-on operational leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director, with responsibility for day-to-day performance of transport operations, client relationships, fleet utilisation, people and profitability.

Key responsibilities
n
Take overall responsibility for the daily operations and performance of the transport business
n
Maximise truck, trailer and equipment utilisation, ensuring assets are productive and downtime is minimised
n
Oversee daily scheduling, allocations, fleet movements and operational priorities
n
Maintain visibility over upcoming work and ensure equipment and labour are positioned effectively to meet operational requirements
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and act as a senior operational point of contact
n
Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships and secure additional work.
n
Ensure consistent delivery on client expectations, service levels and project commitments
n
Monitor revenue, productivity, utilisation, costs and profitability across individual trucks, projects and business divisions
n
Manage project budgets and operational costs to ensure commercially sustainable outcomes.

Lead and support supervisors, allocators,



drivers, maintenance personnel and administration teams
n
Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS, NHVR, WAHVA, Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and client requirements
n
Coordinate workforce planning, recruitment requirements, rosters and project mobilisations.
n
Ensure maintenance planning is aligned with operational requirements and fleet availability is maximised.
n
Manage operational issues proactively and ensure problems are resolved quickly and practically.
n
Support tender submissions, pricing reviews, new project planning and business development opportunities
n
Review and improve operational systems, procedures, reporting and communication.
n
About you
n
Significant operational leadership experience within transport, logistics, mining services, bulk haulage or heavy haulage
n
Strong understanding of heavy vehicle operations, fleet management, scheduling and transport logistics
n
A strong focus on fleet utilisation, productivity and operational efficiency
n
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, customers and operational priorities simultaneously
n




Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of how operational decisions impact revenue, costs and profitability
n
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
n
Solid leadership skills with the ability to hold people accountable while building a positive and productive team
n
Sound knowledge of WHS, Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and heavy vehicle compliance requirements
n
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
A senior leadership position with genuine responsibility and authority
n
