Project Manager | Commercial Construction Projects | Inner West Melbourne

A well-established commercial construction business is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of commercial projects across Victoria.
n
This is a client-facing, hands-on role suited to a commercially astute Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of projects from early planning through to completion, while leading teams, managing risk, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
n
The Role
n
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of construct-only, D&C;, and fit-out projects, ranging from refurbishments through to larger-scale commercial developments.
n
You will play a key role in planning, financial control, stakeholder management, safety leadership, and client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead projects from inception through to handover and close-out
n
Develop and manage project programs, milestones, and resources
n
Establish and control project budgets, variations, and cost reporting
n
Lead and coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and consultants
n
Champion safety, quality, and compliance across all sites
n
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
n
Identify and manage project risks and issues proactively
n
Oversee subcontractor procurement,



performance, and compliance
n
Manage defects, commissioning, and final handover processes
n
Contribute to tenders and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) processes
n
n
About You
n
n
Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar
n
Minimum 7 years' experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction
n
Proven experience delivering D&C;, construct-only, and fit-out projects
n
Strong financial, contractual, and commercial management skills
n
Confident, clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement ability
n
Solid understanding of WHS, quality systems, and compliance requirements
n
Experience with contract forms such as AS****, AS****, ABIC
n
Proficient with construction systems such as Aconex, Procore, MS Project, Hammertech, Cheops, or similar
n
Current White Card and relevant OH&S; certifications
n
