Emerald Carrying Company is seeking an experienced transport professional for a newly created Night Shift Supervisor role based at our Mackay Depot.
n
Reporting to the Mackay Depot Manager, you will monitor the operational performance of the Mackay, Gracemere, and Townsville fleets throughout the night, ensuring operations remain safe, efficient and compliant.

About the role
n
As the primary after-hours operational contact, you will support drivers, monitor fleet movements and respond quickly to challenges affecting safety and service delivery.
n
Your responsibilities will include;
n
n
Oversee nightly fleet operations across Mackay, Gracemere, and Townsville depots
n
Collaborate with Logistics Coordinators to oversee dispatch activities and provide timely operational support to drivers
n
Monitor compliance with safety, fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility requirements
n
Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to drivers to enhance safety, compliance and operational performance
n
Coordinate vehicle maintenance, emergency responses and incident investigation
n
Complete comprehensive end-of-shift reports and undertake required compliance activities, including blind observations
n
Regular travel between the Mackay,



Gracemere, and Townsville depots is an essential requirement of this position
n
n
About you
n
You will be a calm, capable and safety-focused leader who can make sound decisions in a fast-paced night environment.
n
You will bring:
n
n
A current MC licence, demonstrated Road Ranger experience and a strong driving record reflecting a consistent commitment to safe driving practices
n
Demonstrated experience in transport and logistics operations, preferably within fuel or bulk-liquid transport
n
A Dangerous Goods licenceand experience with fleet management and scheduling systems will be highly regarded
n
Comprehensive working knowledge of NHVAS, HVNL and Chain of Responsibility requirements
n
Current Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) andSafe Load Pass
(SLP)certifications,
or a willingness to obtain them with company assistance
n
Proven experience supervising, coaching and mentoring drivers
n
Highly developed communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills
n
The ability to work autonomously and remain calm and decisive under pressure
n
The ability to travel regularly between the Mackay, Gracemere and Townsville depots in line with operational requirements
n
n
