Your new role:
n
We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Registered Nurse (RN1) Grade 2 to join our Eunice Seddon Home on a Casual basis. The roster will be flexible and will comprise of negotiable workdays and hours. This exciting position will ensure that all residents are provided with a secure, friendly workplace where individual choice and decision making is encouraged while providing a quality service which maintains and enhances the independence of residents and maximises their lifestyle options.

You will be required to fulfil the needs of residents and support staff in the provision of clinical care. As a key 'go to' Registered Nurse (RN1) Grade 2 for the team,
you will have an excellent understanding of current best practice guidelines and be confident in providing clinical and operational advice and guidance.

Reporting to the Site Manager, your responsibilities and duties will include:
n

Providing emotional and behavioural support to residents.
n
Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
n
Undertaking detailed clinical assessments of residents (including medication management) seek assistance as required, and complete a detailed report of interventions and outcomes
n
Administering Schedule 8 and PRN medication
n
Developing an expert knowledge of residents' health and reassess regularly through undertaking 'Resident of the Day' reviews
n
Being responsible for regular review and update of allocated care plans
n
Assisting residents with personal care. This includes personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
n
Observing and reporting changes in resident behaviour or physical condition
n
Maintaining appropriate documentation as required
n
Pursuing ongoing development in order to enhance knowledge of contemporary practices and broaden understanding of own responsibilities
n

What we require from you:
n
n
Bachelor's degree in nursing (or equivalent)
n
Current AHPRA Registration
n
Previous experience as a Supervisor/Team Leader is highly advantageous
n
Experience in Aged Care and attention to detail
n
The ability to manage effectively with conflicting deadlines
n
Proven ability to lead a team of multi-disciplinary staff
n
The ability to enhance or maintain our resident's independence and lifestyle
n
A friendly, approachable and non-judgmental attitude
n

Applicants who have lived in a country other than Australia for a period longer than 12 months in the last 10 years may be required to undergo an International Police Check.
