Job Description
MCJ Appointments is seeking an experienced ICT Assets Officer to manage the complete lifecycle of a Council's technology assets. This role is ideal for a highly organised ICT professional with solid experience across asset management, inventory control, procurement coordination and compliance.
n Reporting to the Coordinator ICT Governance and Risk, you will help ensure ICT assets are accurately recorded, properly maintained, cost-effectively utilised and securely disposed of.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Maintain an accurate centralised register of ICT hardware, software, licences, warranties and service agreements.
n
Coordinate ICT asset acquisition, deployment, maintenance, replacement and disposal.
n
Develop and maintain asset management procedures, including tagging and tracking processes.
n
Conduct regular physical inspections and reconcile assets against inventory records.
n
Coordinate procurement activities with internal ICT and procurement teams.
n
Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, contracts and delivery timeframes.
n
Monitor software licensing, asset ownership, configurations and locations.
n
Manage secure decommissioning, data wiping, recycling and equipment destruction.
n
Ensure compliance with Council policies, security requirements and relevant regulations.
n
Prepare reports covering asset status, expenditure, performance and lifecycle metrics.
n
Collaborate with stakeholders across ICT and the broader organisation.
n
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business Administration or a related discipline.
n
Current ITIL certification.
n
Proven experience in ICT asset management, inventory control or a comparable position.
n
Sound knowledge of ICT hardware, software, licensing and asset lifecycle management.
n
Experience using ICT asset management systems and tools.
n
Understanding of procurement, governance and compliance requirements.
n
Excellent organisational, analytical and record-management skills.
n
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate asset information.
n
Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills.
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
n
Previous ICT experience within local government or the broader public sector.
n
Knowledge of ITIL, ISO ***** or related asset management frameworks.
n
Institute of Asset Management certification.
