Role Overview
Ellenby Tree Farm is looking for a motivated Propagation Team Member to support the production of high-quality trees from seed through to early development stages. This is a hands-on role focused on plant propagation, transplanting, and maintaining optimal growing conditions across our nursery.
You'll play a key role in seed sowing, cutting propagation, plant establishment, and early-stage plant care. We're looking for someone reliable, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities
Growing quality plants from seed for future production
Propagating through cuttings and cloning with consistency




Shaping and pruning trees to bring out their best form
Setting up staking and support for solid, healthy growth
Keeping nursery clean, weed-free and thriving
Apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilisers safely and accurately
Working as part of a high-performing team to deliver top-quality trees
Requirements
Proven experience in horticulture or a related field
Strong knowledge of plant propagation and nursery practices
Chemical handling certification (AusChem or ChemCert preferred)
Solid understanding of plant care, pruning, and horticultural standards
High attention to detail with a focus on quality outcomes
Physically fit and capable of repetitive, hands-on work
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Adaptable and able to respond to changing priorities and seasonal demands
Able to work independently with a positive, reliable attitude
