Job Description
Lead a capable HR
n team. Deliver our workforce strategy. Shape better people practices across

Permanent full-time position – 35 hours per week
n
19-day month with one RDO every four weeks
n
Grade N – $4,******-$4,****** gross per fortnight plus superannuation
n
Based in Mudgee, NSW
n
n
Mid-Western Regional
n Council is seeking an experienced and solutions-focused Human Resources
n Coordinator to lead the delivery of contemporary HR services across our diverse
n organisation.
n
Reporting to the
n Manager People and Performance, you will lead and develop the Human Resources
n team while providing trusted, practical advice to supervisors and managers. You
n will also play a key role in achieving the objectives and delivering the priority
n actions and projects set out in Council's Workforce Management Strategy.
n
This is a hands-on
n leadership role combining complex employee relations, team management, policy
n development, workforce planning, project delivery and continuous improvement.
n

A day in the life
n
You'll work across
n a broad range of HR priorities, balancing day-to-day operational needs with
n project that supports Council's people and Workforce Management Strategy.
n
No two days will look the same in this role, you
n might start the morning checking in with the HR team and helping to prioritise
n current recruitment, employee relations and workforce projects. From there, you
n could coach a manager through a performance matter, interpret an industrial
n instrument, review an HR procedure or prepare advice on a sensitive workplace
n issue.
n
Your afternoon may involve progressing a
n project under Council's Workforce Management Strategy, consulting with
n stakeholders, or reporting on progress and outcomes to the Manager People and
n Performance.
n
You will balance immediate operational needs
n with longer-term initiatives that build workforce capability, improve the
n employee experience and support Council to achieve its strategic objectives.If you enjoy working with people, solving

About This Role
n
In this role, you
n will:
n
n
Lead, support and develop the HR team, setting clear priorities and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality HR services;
n
Drive the objectives, actions and priority projects set out in Council's Workforce Management Strategy, monitoring progress and reporting on outcomes;
n
Provide trusted, practical and risk-aware advice to managers on complex employee relations, performance, disciplinary and workplace matters;
n
Coach managers and HR team members to strengthen people-management capability and support fair, consistent decision-making;
n
Lead the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, systems and service delivery;
n
Interpret and apply employment legislation, industrial instruments and Council policies in a complex workplace environment;
n
Be visible, approachable and customer-focused HR driven, proactively engaging with employees, leaders and business areas to understand their needs, identify opportunities and provide timely, practical and tailored support; and
n
Identify emerging workforce trends and risks, turning these insights into practical recommendations and improvements.

About you
n
You are an experienced
n generalist HR professional who can combine sound technical knowledge with
n practical judgement and a genuine commitment to supporting others.
n
You will bring:
n
n
demonstrated generalist HR experience across employee relations, performance management, policy development, employee engagement and learning and development;
n
experience managing complex and sensitive workplace matters, including disciplinary processes and union engagement;
n
demonstrated experience delivering workforce initiatives, organisational projects or strategic HR actions;
n
a tertiary qualification in human resources or a related discipline, or equivalent senior HR experience;
n
sound knowledge of employment legislation and industrial instruments;
n
demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing an HR team;
n
solid project management, analytical, problem-solving and prioritisation skills;
n
well-developed written and verbal communication skills;
n
the confidence to provide clear, balanced and solutions-focused advice;
n
a current Class C driver's licence; and
n
a strong commitment to integrity, accountability and workplace safety.
n
An ability to obtain a criminal history check
n
n
Experience in local
n government will be highly regarded but is not essential. Candidates with strong
n HR leadership experience from other complex, multidisciplinary or regulated
n organisations are encouraged to apply.
