Job Description
MIGAS Apprentices and Trainees – Chinchilla QLD
n
In partnership with our host, TE Engineering & Line Boring, we are seeking a motivated full-time Boilermaker Apprentice to join their team.
n
Founded in **** in Chinchilla, QLD, TE Engineering & Line Boring delivers expert on-site line boring, fabrication, machining, and maintenance services across Queensland and Northern NSW. Proudly 100% locally owned, they are trusted by Tier 1 clients for their quality, reliability, and fast turnaround.
n
With a new facility and in-house CNC and fabrication capabilities, TE Engineering provides agile, solutions-focused support to the mining, civil, construction, and CSG sectors.
n
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while working towards the successful completion of your MEM***** Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade and becoming a fully qualified tradesperson.
n
In this role, you will work under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in metal fabrication and welding while supporting tradespeople.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Prepare metal components through cutting, grinding, and basic fabrication techniques
n
Assist in welding tasks, including TIG and MIG welding, under supervision
n
Support experienced tradespeople with the assembly, fitting,
and repair of metal structures
n
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and basic workshop machinery safely and efficiently
n
Follow workshop safety procedures and contribute to a clean and organised workspace
n
n
Hours
n
Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
n

About You
n
We are seeking an enthusiastic apprentice who is eager to learn, develop their skills, and has a genuine interest in the engineering and fabrication industry.
n
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
n
n
The ability to adapt quickly to new situations
n
Excellent communication skills
n
A valid driver's licence
n
A Construction White Card
n
Solid safety awareness
n
Certificate I or II in Engineering (advantageous)
n
Previous work experience or relevant industry experience
n
The ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen, and police check
