We are seeking a Visitor EconomyDevelopment Officer to join the multi-disciplinary team behind Visit WaggaWagga.This position will coordinate the ongoing destination
developmentactivities
of the City. In addition to building strategic alliances with keystakeholders, the role will participate in the development and execution of arange of projects within the Wagga Wagga Destination Management Plan **********.

Remunerationof $3,****** gross per fortnight with the prospect to progress to $4,******gross per fortnight + 12% superannuation.

Your new role:
n
Key responsibilities of the role include:
n
n
Project managing research projects and conducting data analysis toinform decision making within Council.
n
Assisting with preliminary assessments, analysis and reports oftourism projects.
n
Participating in the creation and execution of annual
destinationdevelopment
strategies to grow the value of the visitor economy sector in WaggaWagga.
n
Sourcing, negotiating and securing sponsorship and grant funds forCouncil projects and programs.
n
Managing and continuing to broaden and build the Wagga WaggaTourism Partner Program,



promoting member benefits, identifying and liaisingwith potential new members.
n
Building relationships, and liaising with industry and communitypartners, to assist in the development and production of appropriate productsand services that align with Council's destination strategy and market needs.
n
Working with and influencing tourism partners to assist inbroadening the diversity of tourism products, services, packages, events andattractions offered and available.
n
Responding to internal and external stakeholders for informationand data on the tourism industry, and presenting market research findings,insights and updates for stakeholders.
n
Identifying training needs of tourism operators and
coordinatingtraining
and mentoring programs to meet these needs.
n
Develop and deliver public presentations and undertake mediainterviews as required.
n
Providing business support to the Destination and EventsCoordinator.
n
Preparing correspondence, reports, promotional materials andpresentations; research; compiling and preparing statistical information;maintaining database/s; conducting visitor surveys; and maintaining visitorstatistics.

What you will need to succeed
n
We are looking for someone with:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications relevant tothe role - Tourism, Business, Marketing, or similar specialisation
n
ClassC Driver's Licence.
n
n
Skills and Experience
n
n
Demonstrated two (2)



years'experience in similar roles in tourism and business development.
n
Proficiency in the use of MicrosoftOffice and other relevant software packages.
n
Solid time management, planning,financial and administrative skills.
n
Demonstrated ability to workeffectively in a team and independently.
n
Strong communication (oral andwritten) and interpersonal skills including sound conflict
resolution,negotiation
and presentation skills
n
Demonstrated ability to deliverquality customer service, contribute to service improvements and adapt tochange.
n
Demonstrated understanding of EqualEmployment Opportunity and Work Health & Safety including risk assessment.
