Senior Business Analyst - Federal Government

Talent is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a major technology initiative within a Federal Government agency.
n
This role will suit a confident and self-sufficient Business Analyst who can work across business and technology teams, bring clarity to complex requirements and support delivery from discovery through to implementation.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Facilitate workshops, interviews and stakeholder discussions to identify business needs, requirements and intended outcomes.
n
Elicit, analyse and document business, functional and non-functional requirements.
n
Develop business requirements documents, user stories and acceptance criteria.
n
Produce current-state and future-state process maps using BPMN.
n
Work collaboratively with business SMEs, executives, designers, developers and testers.
n
Apply user-centred design principles and Australian Government accessibility and usability standards.
n
Support testing, requirements traceability and defect clarification.
n
Assist with UAT preparation, system implementation and the creation of user guidance and training materials.
n
Manage competing priorities and work independently with limited supervision.
n




Guide and support junior Business Analysts when required.
n
Contribute positively to a professional, accountable and collaborative team culture.

About you
n
You will bring
n
n
Relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology or a related discipline.
n
Strong knowledge of systems development lifecycles and Agile delivery methodologies.
n
Demonstrated experience eliciting, documenting and managing complex requirements.
n
Robust process-modelling, data-analysis and data-modelling capability.
n
Practical experience with BPMN and requirements-management tools.
n
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
Experience applying user-centred design practices to improve services and user experiences.
n
Strong planning, prioritisation and delivery skills.
n
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
n
The ability to communicate effectively with technical, business and executive stakeholders.
n
Previous experience within Federal Government or a similarly complex and regulated environment will be highly regarded.
n
