n
We are looking for a Senior Associate Veterinarian with 4+ years of experience to join our established veterinary hospital in Ipswich, Queensland.
n
This is an opportunity to become part of a professional, caring and experienced team where you will have the support, resources and facilities to provide an exceptional standard of care to your patients and clients.
n
Why you'll love this role
n
$125k - $140k + superannuation per year (negotiable based on experience)
n 38 hours per week across just 4 days
n No on-call requirements
n 2 support staff per veterinarian
n Study allowance + paid study leave
n Excellent staff discounts
n Supportive and experienced veterinary team
n Wide variety of medical, surgical and emergency cases
n
We understand that being a great veterinarian isn't just about having excellent clinical skills. It's about having the time, support, resources and people around you to do your job properly.
n
That's why our hospital is structured to support our veterinarians rather than simply expecting them to manage everything themselves.
n
With approximately two support staff for every veterinarian, you'll have a dedicated team around you to assist with patient care, procedures, hospital work and client communication.
n
About Us
n
We have a dedicated and loyal client base who have come to expect a high degree of communication, compassion and quality veterinary care from our team.
n
Our clients value the relationships we build with them and trust us with some of the most important members of their families.
n
Our hospital provides a varied caseload, including general consultations, emergency presentations, medical cases and a broad range of surgical procedures.
n
You'll work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff who are committed to sharing knowledge, helping each other and maintaining a positive workplace.
n
We believe a good veterinary hospital should be a place where people enjoy coming to work, feel supported by their colleagues and can continue developing professionally.
n
The Role
n
This is a full time Senior Associate Veterinarian position, working 38 hours per week across 4 days.
n
Your role will include:
n
General small animal consultations
n
Emergency and urgent-care cases
n
Medicine and preventative healthcare
n
A wide variety of surgical procedures
n
Dentistry and dental radiography
n
Diagnostic workups and case management
n
Client education and communication
n
Working collaboratively with our veterinary and nursing teams
n
Supporting less experienced team members through your knowledge and experience
n
We are looking for someone who is confident managing cases independently but also understands the value of asking questions, collaborating with colleagues and using the wider team's experience when needed.
n
Working hours
n
Weekday shifts vary, with start times commencing between 6:30am and 9am,
and concluding between 5pm and 7:30pm for 9.5hr shifts.
n
Weekend/Public Holiday shifts commence between 6:30am and 7:00am, and concluding between 5pm and 5:30pm, for 9.5hr shifts.
n

n
There is no compulsory on-call requirement.
n
Where appropriate, after-hours work may be undertaken at your discretion and on your terms, with additional bonus remuneration available.
n
What We Offer
n
Competitive remuneration
n
A salary of between $125k - $140k + superannuation per annum, with consideration given to experience and suitability for the role.
n
Invest in your development
n
We genuinely want our veterinarians to continue learning.
n
You'll receive:
n
Paid study leave
n
Support for continuing professional development
n
Opportunities to develop clinical and leadership skills
n
Access to experienced colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge
n
Your education allowance can be used towards appropriate professional development, including courses, conferences, technology and other approved educational expenses.
n
A team designed to support you
n
One of the biggest advantages of this role is our staffing structure.
n
We aim for approximately 2 support staff per veterinarian.
n
That means you aren't expected to be the veterinarian, nurse, receptionist, surgical assistant and hospital attendant all at once.
n
Our experienced support team helps you focus on what you do best — providing excellent veterinary medicine and patient care.
n
Our hospital is equipped with:
n
Digital radiography
n
IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment
n
Fully equipped surgical facilities
n
Dedicated consultation and treatment spaces
n
Up-to-date hospitalisation areas
n
EzyVet practice management software
n
Fully equipped house-call vehicles
n
A broad range of diagnostic and treatment equipment
n
You'll have the tools and infrastructure necessary to confidently manage a varied caseload.
n
A varied and interesting caseload
n
No two days are exactly the same.
n
You'll have the opportunity to manage everything from routine preventative healthcare through to complex medical cases, emergencies and surgical procedures.
n
If you enjoy variety and want to continue developing your clinical skills, you'll find plenty of opportunity here.
n
Work-life balance
n
We believe being a great veterinarian shouldn't require sacrificing your life outside of work.
n
Working 38 hours over 4 days provides a genuine additional day away from the hospital each week.
n
There is also no on‐call, allowing you to properly switch off when you're not working.
n
You'll also receive:
n
Education and study support
n
Supportive management
n
A professional and respectful workplace
n
Opportunities for career development
n
A team that genuinely values your contribution
n

n
Is compassionate and empathetic
n
Has a positive and mature approach to feedback
n
Takes pride in delivering a high standard of patient care
n
Is committed to continued professional development
n
Understands the importance of teamwork in a busy veterinary hospital
n
We're looking for someone who wants to be part of a team, not simply someone looking for somewhere to work.
n
Our Ideal Senior Associate
n
You don't need to know everything.
n
We want someone who is confident enough to make decisions, humble enough to ask for help, experienced enough to guide others and passionate enough to keep learning.
n
You'll be trusted to manage your own cases while having an experienced team around you when you need support.
n
We value veterinarians who approach their work objectively, communicate honestly and always strive to find the best outcome for the patient and their family.
