Concreter / Steel Fixer – PNG ProjectHands-On Project Role | Papua New Guinea | Up to 3 Months
Pacific Marine Group is seeking an experienced Concreter / Steel Fixer to join our team for an upcoming project in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who knows their trade inside and out.
Working as part of the PMG project team, you'll be actively involved in concreting and steel fixing works while also using your experience to provide practical guidance and technical expertise to local personnel working alongside you.
We're not looking for someone to stand back and supervise.
We need someone who is comfortable getting on the tools, demonstrating the right way to do things, solving problems as they arise and helping the wider team deliver quality work safely and efficiently.
About the RoleYour work will include:
Hands-on concreting and steel fixing activities
Reinforcement placement, tying and preparation
Preparation, placement and finishing of concrete
Reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and reinforcement details
Working alongside local personnel and demonstrating correct techniques and work methods
Providing practical technical guidance throughout the works
Identifying issues and helping develop workable solutions on site
Supporting protected, efficient and high-quality work practices
Working closely with the broader PMG project team to achieve project requirements
About YouWe're looking for someone with strong practical experience across both concreting and steel fixing who is confident in their ability and happy to share that knowledge with others.
You'll ideally bring:
Extensive hands-on concreting and steel fixing experience
Strong knowledge of reinforcement, concrete preparation, placement and finishing
The ability to confidently read and interpret construction drawings
Experience across civil, infrastructure, marine or industrial construction
The ability to demonstrate techniques and communicate practical knowledge to others
A strong commitment to safety and quality
A practical, solutions-focused approach
The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse project team
Flexibility and resilience for remote project work
Previous remote or international project experience would be highly regarded.
The OpportunityThe project is based in Papua New Guinea and is expected to require support for up to three months.
