Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Bricklayer to join our construction team in Aitkenvale, Queensland.
n
The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and finishing brick and block structures, including walls, partitions, piers, retaining walls, and feature walls. The role involves hands-on site work, interpreting construction drawings, and completing masonry work in accordance with project specifications and Australian building standards.

Responsibilities
n
n
Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
n
Set out work areas and ensure accurate measurements, alignment, and layout.
n
Build and finish brick and block walls, piers, partitions, retaining walls, and feature structures.
n
Cut bricks and blocks using hand and power tools.
n
Lay bricks in correct bonds and patterns while maintaining consistent height, alignment, and joint thickness.
n
Construct and install damp-proof courses, ties, lintels, reinforcement, and other structural elements.
n
Mix and prepare mortar, adhesives, and other required materials.
n
Repair and restore existing masonry structures, footings, and damaged brickwork.
n
Check levels, plumb lines, and joint consistency throughout construction.
n
Operate brick-cutting machines and masonry equipment as required.
n
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
n
Maintain a clean,
organised, and safe worksite.
n
Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, apprentices, and other team members.
n
Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and Australian construction standards.
n
Identify and report workplace hazards and contribute to maintaining a safe work setting.
n

Requirements
n
n
Certificate III in
Bricklaying/Blocklaying
or equivalent qualification.
n
Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience as a Bricklayer.
n
Strong understanding of construction site safety and building standards.
n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction plans.
n
Strong knowledge of masonry tools, equipment, and techniques.
n
High-quality workmanship and strong attention to detail.
n
Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
Reliable and punctual.
n
Strong communication and time-management skills.
n
n
Minimum salary: AUD $79,423 per annum + Superannuation.
n
