John Therry Catholic College is a Catholic co-educational school situated in Rosemeadow in the city of Campbelltown and part of the Diocese of Wollongong. Established by the Marist Brothers the College maintains a robust Marist charism, tradition and affiliation with Marist Ministries. The College provides a wide curriculum to approximately **** students as we strive for academic success while offering many sporting, cultural and extracurricular opportunities. Various temporary full time or part time positions commencing 28 January **** until 20 December ****. The successful applicants will support the needs of diverse learners in a mainstream setting.

The role of the Diverse Learning Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
n
n
Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
n
Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
n
Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
n
Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in KLA(s).
n
Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
n
Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues,
parents /carers and the wider school community.
n
n
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA
n
n
Experience adjusting class work and assessment activities for students with disabilities.
n
Experience leading meetings with parents and carers to support student learning.
n
Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting or a commitment to gaining qualifications in Special Education.
n
Have experience in developing effective relationships with parents/carers and external agencies in order to develop personalised learning plans for students with disability.
n
Demonstrate an understanding of the Disability Standards for Education (DSE) **** and the processes integral to the annual Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
n
n

QUALIFICATIONS

Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).

Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting or a commitment to gaining qualifications in Special Education.
n
Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
n
The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
n

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
n
This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
