Senior Project Development Leader - NSW Wind Farm

We are partnering with a well-capitalised renewable energy developer to appoint a Senior Development Manager to lead a major late-stage wind project in NSW.
n
This is a genuine project leadership opportunity, bringing together planning, approvals, grid, engineering, construction, commercial, finance and stakeholder workstreams to progress the project towards Financial Close.
n
Role Overview
n
You will:
n
n
Take overall ownership of the project development strategy and programme
n
Lead a planning modification to align the existing approval with the project ultimately being constructed, including turbine selection, access tracks and laydown areas
n
Coordinate planning consultants, technical inputs and stakeholder consultation through to lodgement
n
Progress the relevant EPBC
variation/application
alongside the planning modification
n
Maintain strong relationships with landowners, neighbours, community stakeholders and government agencies
n
Work closely with Construction and Engineering teams progressing design, balance of plant and turbine contracting
n
Maintain momentum across the grid connection process and broader project programme
n
Coordinate specialist internal teams and external consultants across multiple workstreams
n
Progress the project through due diligence, commercial structuring, financing and ultimately Financial Close
n
Lead and develop a small dedicated team of developers
n
Lead project budgeting, programme management, risk and reporting
n

What We're Looking For
n
n
Strong experience developing utility-scale wind projects in NSW
n
Proven experience taking a wind project through NSW Development Approval (DA)
n




Established understanding of, and relationships across, the NSW planning and approvals environment
n
Demonstrated ability to lead a major project through multiple development workstreams
n
Strong stakeholder engagement skills across government, landowners, communities, consultants and internal stakeholders
n
Experience working closely with construction and engineering teams to balance technical, planning, approvals and programme requirements
n
Strong commercial understanding and the ability to manage project budgets, risks and competing priorities
n
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coordinate specialist teams and maintain momentum across complex projects
n

Qualifications
n
n
Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, planning, environmental science, project management or related discipline
n
Demonstrated experience in NSW wind project development
n
Current Australian driver's licence
n
Full Australian working rights
