Our welcoming bistro showcases locally sourced produce through a quality à la carte menu that attracts locals and visitors alike. What you can expect in a day in the role:
n
Our Sous Chef supports the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and meal production andis responsible forsupervising the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef.
n
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
n
n
Preparing, cooking, andassistingwith service.
n
Opening and closing the kitchen.
n
Assistingwith the training and development of recent and current staff.
n
Supporting stock control and ordering.
n
Ensuring and enforcing proper food safety and hygiene practices.
n
Maintaining consistency in food quality and service
n
n
Whatyou'llbring to the role:
n
Along with a strong attention to detail and a trade
qualification(Certificate
III in commercial cookery),



we are seeking a Sous Chef with the following:
n
n
A solid understanding of cooking techniques, ingredients, and various cuisines.
n
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
n
Knowledge of cost control and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold).
n
A passion for food and a genuine love for cooking.
n
Resilience and adaptability, including the flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
n
Strong computer literacy and interpersonal skills.
n
n
An appointee to this role may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks.
