SMARTin Safety is an industry leading occupational health and safety consulting firm, servicing Geelong, Melbourne and South Western Districts of Victoria.
n
This position will report to the Managing Director and be directly responsible for:
n
n
Lead and manage health and safety functions for client projects / activities
n
Implement and maintain client Safety Management System and project-specific safety plans
n
Provide visible leadership and coaching to site teams and subcontractors
n
Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and safety audits
n
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and project requirements
n
Facilitate toolbox talks, training, inductions and safety meetings
n
Monitor safety performance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
n
Build robust working relationships with the client and regulatory bodies
n
n
Other Responsibilities:
n
n
Delivering the WorkSafe Victoria OHS Essentials Program
n
Developing a range of safety management system documentation including (but not limited to):
n




Policies & Procedures
n
SWMS
n
Site Safety Documentation
n
Emergency Management Plans
n
Psychosocial Risk Assessments and Prevention Plans
n
Traffic Management Plans
n
Completing internal and/or 3rd party audits and inspections
n
Delivering training programs including SWMS training, and OHS general awareness
n
n
To be successful in the role, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to meet the key criteria as outlined below:
n
n
Tertiary qualification in OHS or relevant field
n
AIHS Certification (or willingness to work towards)
n
Minimum 5 years' experience in a construction OHS advisory / consulting role
n
Sound knowledge of Victorian legislation, standards and guidelines related to OHS
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
Ability to lead, influence and drive positive safety behaviours on site
n
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
n
n
The following attributes are desirable:
n
n
Cert IV in Training and Assessment
n
Previous experience in a consulting or serviced based business
n
