15 September **** to 30 June **** with the possibility of extension, We are seeking expressions of interest from current Western Australian Public Sector employees for a temporary acting opportunity as a Science Communications Officer- Climate Science Initiative (Level 6).
This role is responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies and initiatives that support the Climate Science Initiative and related programs across the Department.
Working closely with the Corporate Communications team, scientists and policy leads, you will help deliver clear, consistent and audience-focused communications on climate science and related policy matters.
The role involves translating complex scientific information into accessible and engaging content, developing a range of strategic communication products, and facilitating stakeholder engagement to support understanding of climate science, policy concepts and responses.




The successful applicant will be an experienced communications professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to present information in a clear, concise and engaging manner.
You will have considerable experience producing and editing high-quality communications, including print, web and other digital formats, and be capable of translating complex scientific information into a variety of communication products tailored to different audiences.
The role requires someone who can work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners will be essential to success in this role.
Experience with climate science and change communications would be preferential for the role.
