We care about our team and love to make sure they know it.We are seeking an experienced Work Health and Safety Specialist to help drive a strong culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement across our client's organisation.
In this role, you will provide practical WHS advice, oversee key safety programs and work closely with managers and staff to identify and manage risks.
You will play an important role in ensuring a safe environment for our clients, staff and visitors within an aged care setting.Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include, but not be limited to:
Provide practical WHS advice to management, the WHS Committee and safety representatives.
Maintain WHS policies, procedures and systems to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance.
Lead WHS audits, inspections and investigations, ensuring risks are identified and effectively controlled.
Coordinate WHS inductions, training and compliance programs.
Work with the Quality team to address non-compliance, implement corrective actions and share learnings.
Analyse WHS data, incidents and trends and provide reports to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
Coach and support managers and staff to promote a proactive safety culture.
Manage staff injury and workers compensation processes, including rehabilitation and return-to-work plans.
Oversee workplace monitoring, hygiene and other WHS compliance programs.




Monitor WHS objectives and develop initiatives that reduce risk and improve safety outcomes.
Build strong relationships with internal teams, WorkSafe WA, insurers and other external stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement and broader organisational initiatives.
The successful applicant has the following skills and experience:
You will be a practical, collaborative and solutions-focused WHS professional who can build strong relationships and confidently advise stakeholders at all levels.
You will have:
A relevant WHS qualification, such as a Diploma of Work Health and Safety, or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, aged care requirements and risk management.
2–3 years' experience in a WHS role, ideally within health, aged care or a similar setting.
Experience managing incidents from reporting through to investigation and corrective action.
Experience developing and delivering WHS training.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address unsafe work practices.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
