Smart AVR is a growing automotive repair and diagnostic business operating across Australia.
We are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our team, assessing mechanical repairs on accident-damaged vehicles and supporting the repair process from initial inspection through to completion.
This is a unique role offering both workshop-based and mobile assessments, with a fully maintained company vehicle supplied.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for identifying and assessing mechanical damage on collision-damaged vehicles, preparing repair scopes, and liaising with repairers, insurers, and customers to ensure accurate and timely repairs.
Key Responsibilities
Assess mechanical damage on accident-damaged vehicles
Prepare accurate repair estimates and supplementary quotes
Identify hidden or secondary mechanical damage
Liaise with insurers, repair facilities, and technical teams regarding repair requirements
Conduct vehicle inspections both within workshops and at external locations
Assist in determining repair methods and parts requirements
Ensure estimates meet industry standards and insurer requirements
Manage multiple assessments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
What We're Looking For
Mechanical automotive experience,
ideally within collision repair, dealership, or mechanical workshop environments
Experience preparing estimates or repair scopes preferred
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Attention to detail and the ability to identify damage others may miss
A proactive and professional approach to customer service
Current driver's licence
