About the RoleWorking in the Facilities Management Section of the Embassy Compound, the Electrical Maintenance Worker carries out scheduled and unscheduled electrical preventative maintenance and repair work to all Mission buildings and Facilities including Residential owned and Leased properties.
Duties
Repair malfunctional electrical systems and ensures that all tasks are completed in accordance with applicable codes and manufacturers' recommendations.
Monitors and inspects generator equipment to detect problems; controls generator output; installs standby generators and ensures operational condition in emergencies.
Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment and appliances.
Assist in developing and executing testing and inspection checklists.
Tests electrical systems and circuits using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety.
Performs preventive maintenance by inspecting, adjusting, and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure reliable operation and uninterrupted electrical current to critical facilities.
Skills and Experience
Three (3) years experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and components experience as an electrical apprentice or installer is required.
Completion of High School education (Year 10) is required.




Completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognised as producing journeyman level technicians with a concentration in electrical principals is required.
Must meet all current electrical regulatory requirements and standards for safety requirements.
Must have a current and full Electrical License.
Must have a current and Full drivers license, held for a minimum of 5 years.
