About the Role
We're looking for passionate and patient-focused Registered Nurses with recent (within the last 12 months) experience working in paediatrics to join our teams in a casual capacity across Monash Health.
In this role, you'll provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to infants, children, young people and their families while working within a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and continuous learning.
Depending on your skills and experience, you may have opportunities to work across a range of paediatric settings, including:
Paediatric inpatient wards
Paediatric emergency and short stay units
Paediatric specialty services
General paediatric medical and surgical areas
Adolescent health services
Early Parenting Centre Casey
Monash Children's @ Home (Hospital in the Home)
You'll have the opportunity to:
Deliver safe, evidence-based care to children and young people
Partner with families to provide high-quality family-centred care
Work alongside experienced paediatric clinicians within multidisciplinary teams
Recognise and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration
Participate in education, training and quality improvement activities
Contribute to a child-safe culture that promotes the rights, wellbeing and safety of children and young people
Develop your clinical skills across a variety of paediatric settings
About You
You are a passionate and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys caring for children and supporting families throughout their healthcare journey. You thrive in a agile environment, can quickly build rapport with children and carers, and are committed to providing safe, compassionate and culturally responsive care.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
An understanding of safeguarding principles and your responsibilities in protecting children and young people from harm
The ability to advocate for children, recognise concerns regarding safety or wellbeing, and escalate concerns appropriately
Recent acute paediatric nursing experience (minimum 12 months experience required to work on the casual bank, with recent experience in a paediatric setting within the past 12 months)
Well-developed clinical assessment and decision-making skills
A commitment to delivering family-centred and child-focused care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Flexibility and confidence to work across different clinical settings and locations
A positive attitude and willingness to embrace new challenges
Essential Requirements
Registered Nurse registration with Ahpra (unconditional)
Valid Working with Children's Checks
Demonstrated paediatric nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting
Availability to work a variety of shifts
