Our client is a large, complex organisation currently navigating a critical budgeting period. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established team on a contract basis, supporting business continuity during a period of transition.
This role will see you partnering closely with stakeholders across a portfolio, contributing to budget development and supporting the consolidation of portfolio and divisional budget submissions.
While initially engaged on a contract basis through to the end of February 2027, there is strong potential for this position to become permanent for the right candidate.
You will join a team comprising a Senior Management Accountant, two Management Accountants and a Budget Analyst, forming part of a broader finance function of approximately ten staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Support portfolio budgeting and forecasting activities, with a strong focus on the current budget cycle
- Provide financial advice and commentary to portfolio stakeholders
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of month-end financial results
- Lead client meetings and deliver clear, well-articulated financial commentary
- Develop a strong understanding of underlying business operations to identify opportunities to add value
- Prepare insightful analysis on key financial drivers and performance outcomes
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to a range of stakeholders
- Identify and contribute to process improvement opportunities and small-scale projects
- Build effective working relationships across a broad and complex stakeholder group
- Support portfolio planning and strategic initiatives through financial analysis
About You
- Strong management accounting experience, ideally gained in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
- CA/CPA qualified, or well progressed towards completion
- Advanced Excel skills are essential; intermediate Power BI capability is highly desirable
- Experience with Oracle and Hyperion advantageous, though not essential, as training will be provided
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence budget holders and stakeholders
- A collaborative approach and genuine interest in contributing positively to team culture
- Solid communication skills, with the confidence to lead client meetings and deliver commentary clearly
This is an excellent opportunity for a management accountant seeking genuine stakeholder exposure, involvement in a significant budgeting cycle, and the potential for a fixed term contract to evolve into a permanent role.
