About the role
The Principal House Officer/Registrar – Obstetrics & Gynaecology participates in the provision, development and delivery of high-quality obstetric and gynaecological services within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Redcliffe Hospital. Working under the supervision of senior medical staff, the role supports the delivery of secure, effective and patient-centred care across a broad range of women's health services.
The successful candidate will contribute to the assessment, investigation, treatment and ongoing management of patients while participating in medical education, clinical service development and multidisciplinary healthcare delivery. The role offers valuable opportunities to enhance clinical skills, support positive patient outcomes and contribute to excellence in women's healthcare within a busy hospital environment.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide obstetric and gynaecological clinical services under the supervision and direction of senior medical staff.
- Undertake patient assessment, clinical examination, investigation planning and ongoing management to support high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the coordination of medical and surgical treatment plans,
discharge planning and continuity of care activities.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely clinical documentation, medical records and clinical correspondence.
- Contribute to medical education, multidisciplinary teamwork and service improvement initiatives that support excellence in women's health services.
