About the role

Open Support is a community service organisation committed to providing assistance to families in need across New South Wales through the active participation of trained volunteers and staff. Open Support supports the vulnerable in our society offering services that are professional, flexible and responsive to emerging community needs.

Open Support has 2 core areas of focus:

- Domestic and Family Violence including crisis accommodation and case management for women and their children, in particular those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Social Isolation via the provision of social support to people who are isolated and lonely in order to improve wellbeing and enable lasting connection with community.

The Head of Operations is responsible for designing,



leading, and continuously improving the organisation’s service delivery model to maximise impact for individuals experiencing social isolation and domestic and family violence.

This role ensures programs are safe, accessible, high-quality, and responsive to community needs. It focuses on building robust systems, strengthening service delivery capability, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and client-centred practice.

This is a leadership role with a strong emphasis on operational excellence, safeguarding, and sustainable impact at scale.

Success in this role will be demonstrated through the delivery of safe, high-quality, financially sustainable services that improve outcomes for clients, strengthen organisational capability, support workforce engagement and position Open Support as a leader in community service delivery

About you

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and deliver services within the context of broader organisational goals and sector developments.

Financial management

Change leadership​

​Proven ability to design and improve service delivery systems

Experience managing risk, safeguarding, and compliance in a service environment

Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capability

Essential

Senior leadership experience in operations within community services, social services, or not-for-profit sectors





Demonstrated experience working in areas such as domestic and family violence, mental health, or social inclusion

Robust understanding of trauma-informed and client-centred service delivery
