The Clinical Nurse Anaesthetics (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of paediatric patients/residents/clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the Healthcare Team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of paediatric anaesthetic specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities, and has on call components (with proximity requirements), after hours and weekend work.

About the Team

The Operating Room Suite (ORS) at the Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH) is a fourteen (14) theatre suite, including a dedicated Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. The ORS provides services at CSCF Level 6 for children and young people from birth to 16 years of age (and up to 18 years for established paediatric patients) for a broad range of elective and emergency surgical patients. The ORS provides perioperative services for children with the highest level of risk and surgical complexity to patients from Queensland, northern Recent South Wales and Northern Territory. Our unit is a fast-paced environment requiring collaboration between a broad range of multidisciplinary teams to provide exemplary perioperative care to patients and their families.

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the and the and the CHQ .

You'll fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements (GLS)



Nurse Grade 6 Band 1 and the Queensland Health and Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQHHS) commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
