Your new role:
This is an influential senior finance leadership prospect where you will partner with the Divisional Executive Team to drive financial performance, strategic planning and sustainable service delivery across a complex healthcare environment. You will:
- Provide expert leadership across financial management, performance measurement, contract management, service agreements, activity-based funding and corporate governance.
- Lead the development of the Division's annual plan, incorporating clinical activity, workforce, quality requirements, operating and capital budgets, resource allocation and performance measures.
- Deliver insightful financial and performance reporting, identifying risks, opportunities and performance variations and providing recommendations that support effective executive decision-making.
- Build solid business partnerships with Divisional and Cost Centre Managers while leading budget processes, business cases, funding submissions and initiatives that optimise resources and financial sustainability.
About you:
We are looking for an accomplished finance and business leader who can combine solid technical expertise with strategic thinking, commercial acumen and the ability to influence outcomes across a complex organisation. You will:
- Bring extensive experience across financial management, budgeting, costing, contracts, governance and performance reporting within a large healthcare or similarly complex service environment.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions to optimise resources and improve performance.
- Have highly developed communication, consultation and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide trusted advice, reports and recommendations to executive and operational leaders.
- Demonstrate proven leadership capability,
including supervising, mentoring and developing staff while fostering a culture of achievement, innovation and continuous professional development.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
