About D8 Training
D8 Training is a coaching-first strength & conditioning facility in Clarence Gardens.
We work with:
- Juniors (10–14) building confidence, coordination and strength
- Teen athletes (15+) chasing performance and robustness for their sport
- Adults 30–60 who want real strength, structure and accountability
- Over 60s who want balance, strength and independence (ForeverStrength)
We're not a bootcamp or "6‑week shred" studio. We run small-group strength, proper coaching, and long‑term progress.
We're now looking for a Strength & Performance Coach who wants to build a real coaching career, not just pick up a few random sessions.
About the Role
As a Strength & Performance Coach at D8 Training, you will:
- Lead small-group strength and mobility‑focused classes for adults, juniors and/or over‑60s
- Deliver 1‑on‑1 coaching tailored to individual goals (as your hours grow)
- Apply and learn ATG‑influenced strength principles in a structured, progressive system
- Help foster a safe, supportive and engaging training environment for our members
- Contribute to member retention and referrals by running great sessions and building real relationships
You'll start with roughly 15–20 hours per week (depending on experience), with a explicit pathway to 20–30+ hours over time for the right coach.
Core availability required:
- 2–3 weekday mornings between approx. 8:00am–12:00pm (Adults / ForeverStrength)
- 3–4 weekday afternoons/evenings between approx. 4pm–8pm (JuniorGym / Athletes / Adults)
- Some Saturday mornings (rostered)
This role is ideal for someone who wants to be primarily based at D8, grow with the business, and take on more responsibility over the next 1–3 years.
What We're Looking For
Minimum requirements
- Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Trainer)
- Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Current CPR & First Aid (or willing to update promptly)
- Eligibility to work in Australia
You as a coach
- You genuinely care about coaching quality, not just "smashing people"
- You're comfortable working with a mix of kids, athletes, adults and over‑60s (we'll train you on the specifics)
- You're reliable, organised and communicate like a professional
- You train yourself and "walk the talk" on strength, movement and lifestyle
- You're coachable and hungry to get better – you want feedback and use it
Bonus (nice to have, not mandatory)
- Nutrition-related certification or practical experience helping clients with basic nutrition habits
- Experience coaching in a gym or S&C; / sports performance setting
- Familiarity with ATG principles or similar strength/rehab‑focused methods
- Experience with older adults, juniors, or team sport athletes
- Comfortable appearing briefly on camera or helping with simple content when needed
What We Offer
- Ongoing development & mentoring
- Regular coaching education and in‑house workshops
- Direct mentoring from the Head Coach on programming, coaching, retention and member experience
- Clear growth pathway
- Start with key groups that match your strengths
- Opportunity to take on more classes, 1‑on‑1 clients, testing/reporting and eventually specialised programs and leadership for the right person
- Free gym access
- Train at D8 Training as part of the team – we expect our coaches to lead by example
- Supportive, no‑BS culture
- Small, tight‑knit team
- Coaching‑first environment – we care more about how well you coach than how many followers you have
How to Apply
If you're a coach who wants to build a long‑term career in small‑group strength and performance – and you like the idea of working with juniors, athletes, adults and over‑60s under one roof – we'd love to hear from you.
Please apply via Seek with:
1. Your resume
2. A short cover letter answering these three questions:
- What are you doing right now work‑wise?
- What does your ideal coaching week look like 12 months from now?
- Why do you think you'd be a good fit for D8 Training?
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for a brief phone call, followed by an in‑person interview and on‑floor practical.
About the Role

- Lead high-energy strength and mobility-focused group classes.
- Deliver 1-on-1 coaching tailored to individual goals.
- Work with young athletes (10-14), developing athletes (15+), everyday adults, and over 60s clients.

You'll receive ongoing education, mentoring, and growth opportunities, with a pathway to specialty programming, leadership, and more!
