THE OPPORTUNITY

The Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is looking for an Administration Officer to be responsible for the smooth operations of the DVCS office through provision of administrative support for the administration phone line, functional email accounts, incoming enquiries, travel bookings and other support as required.
THE ORGANISATION
DVCS is a non-government, not-for-profit specialist domestic and family violence service that seeks to reduce violence and abuse in relationships. DVCS provides crisis and long-term support services to help break the domestic and family violence cycle. DVCS is here to support people, both during and after crisis situations as well as support programs for those who use violence, with the aim of bringing about change.

DUTIES
The Administration Officer role includes:
- Answer and respond appropriately to phone calls and manage functional email accounts and incoming enquiries;
- Manage travel bookings, room bookings, catering, AV requirements, setup, and cleanup for meetings and events;
- Ensure the administration requirements of the office are met,
including maintaining stationary, kitchen products and client assistance packs;
- Liaise with the office cleaners, rubbish removalists and other suppliers as required;
- Other duties as directed by the DVCS Leadership Team.
- Provide support to CEO and Deputy CEO in diary scheduling, room bookings and other meeting arrangements;
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Relevant experience in administrative support
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise with a wide variety of people
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative
- Able to prioritise competing tasks and ensure deadlines are met and expectations managed when issues arise
- Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
- Good working knowledge of IT systems and the Microsoft Suite, with the ability to learn and adopt new technologies where appropriate
- Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and social justice issues, or a willingness to gain such knowledge
- A demonstrated commitment to the values of equity, inclusion and diversity
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Card
- Current driver’s licence
