● Complete cleaning and housekeeping requirements associated with assembly work.

● Prepare completed gearboxes and motors for dispatch.

● Work efficiently and use company resources responsibly.

● Follow NORD policies, procedures and quality requirements at all times.

What you will bring

● A recognised apprenticeship or trade qualification in manufacturing, mechanical assembly or a related field.

● At least 3–5 years of trade experience as a general assembler or in a similar industrial manufacturing role.

● A sound understanding of industrial power transmission products and mechanical assemblies.

● The ability to identify parts from a bill of materials and confirm that the correct components have been issued.

● Experience reading drawings, work instructions and technical specifications.

● Confidence using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers.

● Basic machining and mechanical fitting ability.

● Technical capability to assist with fault finding and preventative maintenance.

● The ability to read electrical schematics, or a willingness to develop this skill.

● Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use NORD software tools.

● Basic reading, writing and numeracy skills.

● The ability to work to production targets without compromising workmanship.

● A collaborative working style and willingness to support your team.

● Flexibility to work overtime when required.

Physical requirements

This is a hands-on, physical role carried out in a workshop environment. The work involves regular standing, walking, bending, reaching and handling mechanical components and tools throughout the day. You must be comfortable remaining active for extended periods, including up to 8–10 hours when required, and working safely with mechanical components, tools, presses and workshop equipment.
