How you will make a difference:

The Learning Designer is responsible for the development of CRANAplus online and blended learning products. Working under the direction of the Digital Systems and Learning Manager, the role delivers the operational learning development work that brings new and revised courses to life – from designing and building courses in the LMS through to supporting the learners who use them. This is a hands-on build role. It suits someone who wants to spend their time making positive learning products.

What you will be doing (Responsibilities and Duties):

Course Development

- Build and publish online and blended courses in Canvas LMS
- Develop interactive learning objects and scenarios in Articulate Storyline




- Work with clinical subject matter experts to convert source material into structured learning content
- Apply instructional design principles appropriate to adult, professional and clinical audiences

Learning resource creation

- Produce supporting learning resources – guides, job aids, assessment items, handouts
- Prepare and edit graphics and media assets for use in courses, using the Adobe Creative Suite
- Ensure all resources meet accessibility and copyright requirements

Learning management system administration (as required)

- Perform routine Canvas administration: course setup, enrolments, cohorts, release conditions, reporting
- Configure assessments, quizzes and completion rules
- Test course functionality across devices and resolve build issues

Learner support

- Provide support as required to support learners, at times of peak demand or staff absence
- Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements
- Support facilitators and educators using the learning platforms

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

Essential

- Demonstrated experience in instructional design and online course development
- Practical, current experience administering a learning management system – Canvas strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience authoring interactive content in Articulate Storyline
- Ability to work with subject matter experts and convert technical or clinical source material into effective learning content
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent builds and meet deadlines with limited supervision

Desirable

- Experience designing learning for health, clinical or regulated professional audiences
- Working capability with the Adobe Creative Suite
- Some familiarity with HTML and JavaScript in a learning content context
- Familiarity with SCORM packaging and troubleshooting
- Understanding of WCAG accessibility requirements
- Experience in a not-for-profit or member-based organisation
