Senior Commercial Accountant – LOOK Group

Leichhardt, Sydney | Full-time

Hands-on SME Role.

LOOK Group is a successful Sydney-based creative production business working with many of Australia’s leading brands.

We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded senior accountant with excellent communication skills to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial management, reporting and the financial activities of the SME Group.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the business, understands the numbers, and can provide management with clear, accurate and timely financial information. You will be assisted by our experienced full-time Accounts Clerk. Experience in a job costing/manufacturing environment an advantage.

The Role

Working closely with the Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team, you will take responsibility for the financial function.

Your responsibilities will include:

Daily

- Oversight of invoicing, debtors, creditors and banking and costing?

Weekly

- Creditor payment runs and cash management

- Debtor management and collections

- Review of cash flow and short-term cash requirements

- Oversight and payment of payroll. Experience with Micropay an advantage.

Monthly

- Preparation of management accounts and financial reporting

- P&L;, balance sheet and cashflow reporting

- Analysis and commentary on performance against budget

- Payroll tax, reconciliations, and other regular financial obligations

- Supporting management with forward planning

Annually

- Preparation and management of the annual budget

- Preparation of year-end accounts and supporting schedules in conjunction with our external accountant

- Oversight of insurance renewals,



workers compensation and other annual financial requirements

Cashflow & Profit Forecasting

Prepare and regularly update short, medium, and longer-term Profit and cashflow projections, giving management early visibility of upcoming funding requirements including any major expenditure and keeping up to date tax obligations

About You

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience as a Senior Accountant, Finance Manager or senior management accountant in an SME environment

- Strong practical accounting skills and a good understanding of forecasts, & Cashflow projections

- Experience preparing monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts

- Strong MYOB skills, or experience with a similar accounting platform

- Confidence managing payroll, debtors, creditors and banking

- Excellent attention to detail.

- Positive communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial managers

Experience in manufacturing, print, production, construction, fabrication, or another job costing/project-based business would be advantageous but is not essential.
